If you live in Chicago, you know that Lollapalooza starts tomorrow! If you don’t live in Chicago or have never heard of Lollapalooza – it’s pretty much the Coachella of the midwest. Three days in Grant Park full of performances by some of the best artists in the music industry with the Chicago skyline as the backdrop. Sounds ok, right?!
Besides the music, it’s also a big weekend for fashion. There’s the good, the bad and the tweens in booty shorts (cringe) – but for most people, it’s just a fun opportunity to get outside of their normal comfort zone! I think everyone would laugh if they saw me in full festival garb with fringe and peace signs… but I won’t ever say no to a crop top set and a flower crown!!
So, who am I excited to see this weekend?! There are SO many good bands on Friday, it’s crazy! I want to hit up Father John Misty, Broods, BORNS, Alabama Shakes, Alt J, Sylvan Esso… I told you there were a lot! And that’s not even including the headliners – Paul McCartney or The Weeknd? Hmmm.
And Saturday, I’m excited to groove to an old friend of mine named Janelle Kroll who is making her Lolla debut this weekend. How freaking cool is that?! She’s gonna be big, guys. Just listen to this track and you’ll be hooked, too.
I also got the perfect festival bag from Rebecca Minkoff, just in time! A bucket bag is such a great choice for the weekend – it’s big enough to hold the essentials, but the slouchy shape fits with the easy going vibes and you can wear it on your shoulder or crossbody.
I’ll be posting on Instagram and Snapchat (lakeshorelady) from the festival on Friday and Saturday, so make sure you’re following along! And if you’re wearing Rebecca Minkoff this weekend, be sure to share your Lollapalooza style and use #RMlolla!!
