I consider myself very lucky that I get invited to cool events around the city, but I consider myself even luckier that these events usually give me a chance to hang out with some lovely ladies! I hadn’t seen Ashley in a while, and since it was such a gorgeous night we met a few minutes before to snap some pics! She is such a talented photographer that it’s always such a treat to shoot with her – especially because her words of encouragement usually actually make me laugh! Haha seriously, she loves to give you feedback like “Work it, girl!” My laughing shots aren’t always real, but the one above totally is 🙂
Even though events are super fun, sometimes it’s hard to find the time to get ready for them with my busy schedule. This particular one was at The Broken Shaker, so I knew I could go casual with my hair. A messy side braid is my current go-to look when I don’t have time to style it. It’s a little bit flirty, plus it helps me get out the door! Win!
Not only was this event side braid appropriate, but it also allowed me to wear my favorite go-to casual outfit. I love the slouchy fit on this striped top, especially with my favorite distressed jeans. Plus, with my red bag, it almost looks like I’m channeling 4th of July… can you tell where my head’s at?
I finished off the look with my new favorite Hush Puppies booties that you ALL need to buy for yourself. Since “spring” this year is… ummm… not warm, practical transitional pieces are more important than ever. The nude color on these booties are perfect for the new season, but they’ll still keep your toesies warm! They’re also super comfortable – so shorties like me can get some extra height without any discomfort. The ultimate goal!
I know. I’ve been confused by this weather, too. Summer will be here soon though, guys. We can do it.
One more thing to point out in this outfit = the most beautiful delicate bracelet by Monica Vinader. I know you can’t see it super well in this post, but I promise it will be popping up in outfit posts, on Instagram and on snapchat (username: lakeshorelady) a lot over the next few months. I haven’t wanted to take it off – it’s one seriously stunning piece of jewelry and it goes with casual outfits just as well as it does with a cocktail dress. In. Love.
Also, this necklace?! SWOON!
Again, huge thanks to Ashley for the photos!
