I don’t know about you, but when summer finally arrives, I want to spend as much time outside as I possibly can. And on a beautiful night, a picnic sounds like the best thing EVER. The only issue? We all don’t always have time, especially on a weekday night, to whip up something delicious and pack it up before heading to the park.
My solution? Delivery via Caviar! Who says a picnic needs to be homemade, am I right?! I don’t know about you guys, but I definitely overthink summer activities sometimes. If I’m not going to do it right, why do it at all? But how stupid is that? As long as you have a picnic blanket, some good food, and even better company – that’s really all you need!
For this picnic, I decided to order from honeygrow, which was honestly the perfect choice. They have SO many killer salad and stir fry options – or you can create your own! But my favorite part is the honeybar. Fruit and honey for dessert? Yes please, EVERY TIME.
For our entrees, we got one salad and one stir fry. I created my own salad, loosely based off of their Summer Seasonal Salad. This one has mesclun mix, green kale, avocado, red onion, walnuts, roasted spicy tofu, watermelon and a honey ginger vinaigrette. YUM! As for the stir fry, we tried the Sweet Soy Five Spice with brown rice, ground turkey, and green beans. Seriously, so delicious.
For dessert, I got to try their honeybar for the first time, and my life has been changed. Basically, you can choose any assortment of fresh fruit, garnishes, and local honey ranging from wildflower, buckwheat, clover and more.
The combo on the left has blueberries, honey peaches with mint, yogurt, wildflower honey, granola, and coconut shavings. Totally something I would eat any time of day. But the one on the right is definitely more of a dessert. Strawberries, blueberries, bananas, chocolate chips, whipped cream, and NUTELLA HONEY. Holy moly, this is my dessert heaven.
What are your favorite picnic foods?
